Sunday Morning Class with Hugh Byrne

Sundays, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm in the Dharma Room, Suite 200, Upper Floor
Drop in — no registration required

An oasis in a busy week, Hugh’s class includes two 30-minute guided meditations, a 10-minute walking meditation between sittings, and a half-hour at the end of the session to focus on a particular area of sitting or daily-life practice — like a mini-weekly retreat.

After the sitting, those with the time and inclination often adjourn to a nearby coffee shop to continue the dharma discussion or for more informal sharing or exploration of the state of the world.

“The Center for Mindful Living is like one-stop shopping for the soul.”

Mindfulness in Recovery

Sundays, 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the Meditation Room, Suite 201, Upper Floor
Drop in — no registration required

This Spiritual Friends group is open to those new to meditation and seasoned practitioners alike with a common interest in the intersection of Buddhist teachings and 12 Step recovery. All 12 Steppers are welcome and we ask that participants have continuous recovery, as defined by their 12 Step group, and that a working relationship with that group be established before attending your first meeting.

Our group welcomes people from all religious and spiritual traditions or of none. To serve our group’s primary purpose, we ask that our focus remain on Buddhist practice and teachings, as they relate to recovery.

We abide by the tradition of anonymity because the success of our group is dependent on each of us respecting the confidentiality of our meeting and it’s members – please remember that who you see here and what is said here needs to stay here.

Our meeting format includes a sitting meditation, a group speaker, and an opportunity to practice mindful sharing of our experience, strength, and hope as it relates to 12 step recovery and Buddhist teachings.
